PERSONAL STATEMENT

Dear Colleagues,

In 2013 I had the pleasure to become member of the International Society of Schema Therapy and was truly excited to join this “big family”.

Furthermore, since 2013, I have also been collaborating with the Institute of Cognitive Sciences, whose founder, Dr. Alessandro Carmelita, has now applied for the position of President of the ISST.

With respect to my professional background, I am a certified Schema Therapist and Supervisor, and I work as a clinical psychologist at the Schema Therapy Center in Parma.

As far as my University career is concerned, in 2003 I graduated in Psychology at the University of Parma and, in 2009, I specialized in Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy at the Scuola Quadriennale Studi Cognitivi (Cognitive studies four-year School).

I think that the ethical values and the clinical practice that Schema Therapy promotes are really important; this is the main reason why I would like to personally engage in supporting the ISST functioning, to allow the International Society to further develop and to have a constantly increasing number of members.

Kind regards,

Serena Saccani
