JUNE 24 - 26, 2021 / WORLDWIDE
Breaking the Virtual Wall - Part 1: Delivering Online Schema Therapy:
Online Therapy has been rapidly expanding during the last few years as technological advancements allow for more stable and secure platforms for online communication. However, as the world is socially distancing due to the Covid-19 outbreak, Online Therapy has become the only way to provide therapy. The shift from in person traditional therapy setting to the online environment, not only involves technological adjustments, but also many clinical adjustments in order to ensure therapeutic alliance is maintained. Schema Therapy strategies provide therapists a wealth of opportunity to bypass the virtual wall and physical distance. In our webinar we will cover the following topics: 1. Highlights for keeping the therapeutic frame 2. Clients' Modes and Schemas activations due to the online environment, and the opportunity to address them through limited reparenting interventions. 3. Adapting the experiential strategies and creating a real sense of connection in the virtual setting
Breaking the Virtual Wall - Part 2: Enhancing awareness of therapist barriers in Online Schema Therapy
Since the onset of Covid 19, therapists around the world have taken up telehealth at lightning speed. However, we have seen significant variations in therapist willingness and comfort in the use of telehealth, particularly for an emotionally focused therapy such as Schema Therapy. In this webinar, we will cover these topics: 1. Explore individual therapist schemas activated when delivering telehealth. 2. An experiential exercise to identify therapist schemas and understand how they impact on confidence and delivery of telehealth.
