About
I grew up in South Africa, and after qualifying as a social worker - moved to London where I obtained my Practitioner Doctorate in Counselling Psychology with a specialization in psychodermatology. Over the next decade and a bit, I worked in the NHS, lectured on post-graduate courses at London Metropolitan University and supervised psychology students.
In 2006 I moved to Greece where I lived and practiced for the next ten years. During this time I was part of the first group to complete the International Schema Therapy Certification Course in New York. I was trained directly by Jeffrey Young & became an Advanced schema therapist, trainer and supervisor.
In Athens I collaborated with a dermatology hospital to set up a psychology service for patients with chronic skin disease and was President of the Greek Psoriasis Patient Association. To advance learning in Schema Therapy I lectured at the Athens Institute of Research and Behavior, provided Schema therapy training with Arnie Reed and Chris Hayes.
In 2016 I moved to California with my husband and young son. I am currently director of the California Schema Therapy Training Program with Kathy Rudlin and we are expanding schema therapy training in Los Angeles and San Diego. Therapeutically my interests include helping individuals who struggle with chronic psychological and interpersonal difficulties, and different types of chronic illnesses. I also have an interest in cultural dynamics and how to heal from deep and transgenerational wounds.
