Call For Training Submissions Workshops & Skill Classes INSPIRE 2022 ISST Conference The Place to INSPIRE TAP THE "SUBMIT YOUR PROPOSAL" BUTTON BELOW. See the descriptions of formats for the Training Categories below. The ISST Executive Board is happy to announce a call for training presentations for INSPIRE 2022 in Copenhagen/Virtually. We invite you to submit proposals for two types of Training presentations:
These are presentations of treatment or interventions for a specific mode, clinical diagnosis or presenting problem. Workshops include demonstrations and practice opportunities with discussion of the everyday clinical use of the treatment or intervention and participants experience of the practice. Examples are: Imagery rescripting in Group Schema Therapy to fight the Punitive Critic mode; Limited reparenting strategies to connect with adolescent clients with Borderline Personality features; Safety interventions for clients with complex trauma.
These are presentations of one intervention for a specific purpose. Skill Sessions consist of demonstration, opportunity for participants to practice and brief discussion of their experience. Examples are: A Mode dialogue intervention in which the therapist plays the client’s Vulnerable Child mode in order to increase their compassion for their VCM; an intervention to fight the Punitive Critic mode using an effigy drawn on cloth; using audio flashcards.
If you have developed an original intervention or an adaptation of a standard intervention that fits within the Schema Therapy model and furthers one of the treatment goals of Schema Therapy, we welcome you to submit a proposal for a 90 minute Skill Training presentation. This is an opportunity for additional creativity and intervention development from the feedback of your Schema Therapy colleagues. Formats of Submissions Please select the format for your proposal, based on the descriptions above. The presenter and/or chair of each format must complete each required field on the application. The application requires the following information for each presenter:
In-Congress Workshops Submitters should provide a structured abstract to include the following: · Workshop presenter(s) · Brief bio with pictures of the presenters · ISST certification level of presenter(s) · Target Audience · Level of experience required for participants (do you offer options, such as beginner, intermediate, or advanced?) · Abstract (500 words or less) · Learning objectives · Teaching methods (Powerpoint/Keynote/Prezi presentation, video/digital demonstration, role play, etc.) · A brief description of the workshop leader(s) · Implications for everyday clinical practice in Schema Therapy · Relevant background readings about the topic (Chapters, research papers, guidelines etc.) Skill Class for Schema Therapy Practice Submitters should provide a structured abstract to include the following: · Skill Class presenter(s) · Brief Background Experience of Leader(s) in the area of the Skill Class · A recent picture of the presenter · ISST Certification level of presenter(s) · Target audience · Level of experience required for participants (Beginner, Intermediate with basic Schema Therapy training, or Advanced) · Learning objectives · Abstract (500 words or less) Topics of Interest
Please Note: We encourage proposals that fit with the theme of the conference: Reinventing the Therapeutic Relationship. Schema Therapy is integrative of cognitive, behavioral and experiential or emotion-focused interventions, so proposals in those categories are welcome as long as they are consistent with the Schema Therapy model. Presentations of other therapy models are not appropriate for these sessions. IMPORTANT: Skills Classes require at least Standard level certification by ISST in the area of presentation. In-Conference Workshops require Advanced Level Certification by ISST in the area of presentation. For instance, if you are proposing a workshop on Schema Therapy for Children and Adolescents, you must have attained Certification in Schema Therapy for Children and Adolescents (at least Standard level for a Skills Class, and Advanced level for a Workshop). If you have questions about the appropriateness of a presentation idea you have, feel free to contact the ISST Executive Board Training Coordinator, Rita Younan: Deadline: March 1st |
