“Schema Modes: Bridging Clinical Practice and Scientific Research”
Keynote by Arnoud Arntz
Friday July 1st: 9:00 - 9:35 a.m.
The schema therapy model that has become most prominent is based on the schema mode model. Whilst there might be good reasons for this, like the fact that the schema mode model might be easier to understand for patients and easier to apply for therapists than the schema model that needs both schemas and coping styles, the question arises to what degree the mode model is scientifically supported. In this keynote I will discuss the scientific foundation of the schema mode model as well as what we know from research about its helpfulness in clinical practice.
