DUTIES OF THE CERTIFICATION CO-ORDINATOR
Responsibilities include:
In general, and in communication with the Coordinator of Training, this position encompasses the maintenance, development and modification of all ISST guidelines and protocols related to certification, supervision for certification, and clinical competence in schema therapy. Serve on the committee that proposes the content of ISST sponsored training events (the biannual Summer School and the training workshops of the biannual conference). Coordinator of Certification will also oversee all procedures for certification for all ISST sponsored events and approve presenter applications to award certification credit.
Specific Tasks
Maintain an active Certification Committee, which consists of the appointed individual certification application reviewers for all countries and the chairs of the certification committees for the ST specialty areas.
Appoint members of the Certification Committees with Executive Board (EB) approval.
Hold meetings with the Certification Committees as needed.
Coordinate the Director of Training on issues that overlap certification and training.
Approve all routine certification applications: individual, group, child-adolescent & couple, following the requirements established by the EB.
Maintain records of all applications for all types of certification.
Review the requirements for certification in ST annually. Solicit input from the TCAB and Individual Certification committee make recommendations for changes to the EB for approval.
Work with the Science and Research Director to coordinate the validation of the competency scales being used for certification tape rating.
With the specialty area committees, develop criteria for independent tape raters in individual, Group, C-A, and Couples ST and make recommendations for EB approval.
Ensure that the information, requirements and applications for certification are up to date on the ISST website.
Deliver the portion of the Trainer-Supervisor required webinar that pertains to ISST requirements and procedures for certification at least biannually. This is either done separate from or in combination with the Supervisor training workshop required for those who began training after 2014.
With the existing committee for the certification of ST Treatment Programs, analyze pilot data and propose requirements for this certification to the EB.
Chair the committee on the relationship between ISST certification and the Dutch Registry that will implement a plan for grandparenting of Dutch Registry members.
General Tasks
Attend monthly Executive Board meetings and actively participate in EB functions
Answer Questions of (candidate) members about certification.
Formulate proposals for new exceptions to the rules, which can then be presented to the board for approval.
Maintain a record of all exceptions
Maintain contact with supervisors and trainers in all countries regarding certification issues and other particular needs.
Oversee the various certification committees and take their proposals to the EB.
Requirements: The time commitment for this position is high 6-8 hours per week with occasional additional demand. This position requires good organizational skills and the ability to set limits and support the various requirements of ISST certification in a Healthy Adult manner.
