Getting to Barcelona

By Plane: most flights arriving from the United States and Canada land at El Prat del Llobregat (BCN), a sleek, ultra-modern facility. From major European cities, other airports serve Barcelona, but check the cost for travel to the inner city (GRO, REU, BIL). El Prat de Llobregat is 14 km/9 miles south of Barcelona.

You can take a taxi from the airport (around €30), or public transportation options, including the RENFE airport train. The RENFE is inexpensive and efficient, running every 30 minutes from 5:30 a.m. to 12:45 a.m., with a one-way fare of about €2.

By Train: International overnight trains to Barcelona arrive from Paris, Grenoble, Geneva, Zurich, and Milan, among others. Almost all long-distance trains arrive at and depart from Estacio de Santos, and many stop at Passeig de Garcia, which is helpful if you are staying in a hotel in the Eixample district.
