Introductory Webinar: Meeting the Needs of Neurodivergent Clients in Psychotherapy

This webinar is designed for a diverse audience of mental health professionals who already work or plan to work with neurodivergent clients. Focusing on autism and ADHD, we discuss how the needs of neurodivergent clients can be acknowledged and met in psychotherapy. Specifically, we will focus on attunement and validation, sensory needs, communication style, diverse ways of processing information and structuring activities, optimal level of stimulation and arousal coregulation. The webinar represents a neurodiversity-affirming and neuroscience- informed approach that respects the autistic and ADHD ways of being. Theoretical information will be coupled by examples of adjustments that can be implemented in psychotherapeutic practice.
