In this workshop, you will learn:

  • How to apply chairwork and imagery rescripting with internalized parent modes and parents
    Working with internalised parent modes and, where relevant, real parent dynamics
  • How to work within filial piety and family hierarchy
    Supporting change without positioning the client against their family
  • How to manage therapeutic direction in complex family systems
    Avoiding both over-compliance and premature confrontation
  • How to locate your stance as a therapist 
    Making moment-to-moment clinical decisions in emotionally constrained contexts

Target participants: Participants are expected to have basic schema knowledge, i.e. completed at least Level I Schema Therapy training. This workshop focuses on the application of chairwork and imagery rescripting in complex family dynamics.

Trainer: 
Beatrice Ng-Kessler is a Clinical Psychologist registered in the UK and Hong Kong, an ISST Advanced Certified Schema Therapist, Supervisor, and Trainer, and Chair of the ISST Culturally Responsive Schema Therapy Special Interest Group. She is the founder of the Chinese Schema Therapy Academy (CSTA) and the first ISST-accredited Schema Therapy Trainer from Hong Kong.

She has authored 3 Chinese books, including the first-ever Chinese Schema Therapy book 「基模治療」

An Honorary Adjunct Fellow at the University of Technology Sydney, Beatrice teaches internationally and is widely recognized for her work on culturally responsive Schema Therapy, emotional processing, and psychotherapy.
