Interest Areas
We all experience struggle, suffering and moments where life seems to fall apart. I believe that under the right conditions, life’s inevitable curve balls can create the opportunity for learning and growth. I work with my clients from an equal, genuine and vulnerable stance to help them build meaning and contentedness, and live lives which reflect their personal values. I strongly believe in the skills and strategies I teach and I have experienced the benefits of consistently applying them in my own life.
I deliver client-centred and evidence-based care to youth and adults using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Schema Therapy approaches.
Alongside my training in South Australia, I also received training in psychology at Maastricht University in The Netherlands.
My work history includes both private clinical practice and community mental health services. I am passionate about providing comprehensive and compassionate care to those experiencing Borderline Personality Disorder and emotion regulation difficulties. This is a strong focus of my work in community mental health, where I am a member of the Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Team and co-facilitate DBT skills groups.
I am currently undertaking my Schema Therapy Accreditation under the supervision of Sally Skewes.
My particular areas of interest include working with individuals experiencing:
• Depression and mood disturbances
• Anxiety, worry and phobia
• Emotional and behavioural difficulties
• Personality disorders, with a specific focus on Borderline Personality Disorder
• Interpersonal difficulties
• Complex trauma
Consultations: Currently on Maternity Leave until October 2022
