Proposal to change the name of the Executive Board portfolio currently called “Public Affairs Coordinator”, to “Media Coordinator”
Motivation: The title “Public affairs coordinator” was introduced when the Statutes were originally written ten years ago. At that time the portfolio also dealt with membership applications and issues, an area that has since been moved to the Vice President and Secretary. Also, since then there have been such major technological advances that this title sounds old fashioned and does not reflect the tasks of this portfolio. The proposed title of “Media Coordinator” is in keeping with the times and provides a much clearer indication of the tasks of the person holding this position. This change is supported by the whole Executive Board and is particularly recommended by Travis Atkinson who is currently serving in this capacity on the Executive Board and who has been ensuring that the ISST’s media activities keep pace with technological and marketing practice developments.
