Beside the every day tasks of the ISST treasurer, the overarching task was to increase the manpower in our office. After two attempts finding an addtional person to support us, in September we followed an advice of Arnoud Arntz to look for an professional Association Management Company (AMC) to source some of our less complex tasks out to. I appreciated this idea very much as it had not occured to me before. We created a small task force, including Remco van de Vijngaart, Travis Atkinson and I, and started looking for options immediately.
Choosing from four realistic options, we decided to cooperate with a smaller German company specializing in non-profit organizations like ISST. They promised to be flexible concerning the amount of support they provide and about the tasks undertaken. We start working together on October 30, 2018. I feel responsible in taking care of this important development in our office structures to see us prepared for future tasks and growth. This will not take longer than this board term so I anticipate stepping back from future board activities once this step is taken.
After 10 years serving on the board in different positions, including my term as President from 2014 to 2016, it is time to give way to new faces and ideas. Once my organisational work is done, ISST will be prepared to shift from the pioneer phase into a Phase of Differentiation. I would appreciate very much if you regard this a sound plan and give me your vote.
