The Schema Therapy Society: Rising

With much appreciation and gratitude for your support and confidence, I am thrilled to continue in my position on the Executive Board as Public Affairs Coordinator. ISST is a vehicle to help our incredibly gifted, talented, and caring members from around the world to connect, sharing ideas in so many ways that help members “be the change we help create.”

My goals over the next term include optimizing all of our media tools to help members connect even more, and to continue promoting the message of schema therapy to the widest audience possible. Our website enables all Executive Board members to contribute in their specific roles, and helps members highlight their specialties and experience. I plan to continue expanding the Forum section of the website, inviting more members to participate in special interest groups that can help all members in their work. I will also continue interviews with as many members as possible, sharing skills, techniques, and ideas from some of the most experienced schema therapists. Over the next couple of months, I will be posting select keynote addresses, Jeff Young's Welcome Address, and the Plenary Panel from the INSPIRE 2016 ISST World Conference in Vienna, enabling enrolled members on the website the opportunity to grow as clinicians, researchers, trainers, and supporters.

With Summer School approaching in June of 2017 in Barcelona, and the INSPIRE 2018 Conference in Washington DC on the horizon, I will be inviting members to form a team from throughout the world to help promote attendance at the conferences, spotlighting the many members within ISST who will make the conferences a huge success, and spreading schema therapy to even more populations.

I look forward to collaborating with the members of the new Executive Board, and will continue to do my best to assist all of us as we contribute to our international family of schema therapists.

Please share your ideas and experiences with other members through our website, listserv, social media outlets on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and YouTube, and email me with any thoughts, ideas, or questions you have (EMAIL).

With many thanks,

Travis Atkinson
